Hello! I love to share things that I love on my personal Pinetrest, Twitter and Instagram account. I started getting friends of friends following me. So I looked into blogging and started following a few sites. I noticed most of them had one thing missing.... They didn't speak to me as a young professional working 40+ hours a week, shopaholic on a budget, newly wed, first time homeowner & habitual dieter. Many of the DIY projects & recipies took more time & creativity then I had available. Plus, a good amount of the fashion & beauty suggestions were out of my budget. If any of this describes you follow me, write me, & send me things you love so I can share it!

Review:: Urban Decay Naked Palette

It seems like you can never go wrong with Urban Decay's Naked Palettes.  Whenever I get my makeup done at Sephora they always use a combination of different brands for my concealer, blush, eyeliner but the eyeshadow is always from the Naked family.  I got the first Naked Palette a few years ago.  I wore more makeup at that time in my life so I was loving all of the combinations there were available to me in a one stop shop.  Great to bring on a vacation since the nude colors could stand alone for the day time no makeup look.  At night, I was able to do a purple or bronzed smoky eye.  Even after a few years & regular use I still have my original case.  There are a few colors that are almost gone like Naked & Sidecar.  Those shades look great with no contouring needed.  The case is made of felt so it doesn't stay as clean as I would like for something that holds shadows that go on my face, but no biggie.

A year later, I put Naked 2 on my birthday wish list.  Ironically my Dad (not my Mom but my Dad) bought it for me.  I got it December 2013.  He told me that it was hard to find and sold out at most Sephora's.  I thought it was really sweet that he went to three different beauty stores to get me a gift.  That's another story for another day.  Back to the palette....  I was SO EXCITED to get it.  All of the hype and anticipation.  Finally, it was ALL MINE!   I think the only reason it was hard to find at that time was due to the holiday season and Naked 3 was released.  People probably defaulted to the Naked or Naked 2 when they couldn't purchase Naked 3.  Urban Decay put together another great collection of day to night colors.  I wear Foxy & Bootycall as a base or for my no makeup daytime look.  For night, I love using Tease as a blending color for most combinations.  You can mix and match bronze, browns and purples.  It's a really versatile combination of shades.  If you're a real makeup pro dare to use Blackout as a contour.  I have a liner brush and dab it in water to use it as a eyeliner for my upper lid.  The case for this one is plastic which is an improvement from the original Naked.  However, on the daily I still use the original Naked over Naked 2.

My one complaint: they don't sell all of the shades separately.  My favorite color, Sidecar, is only availably in the palette.  That means the only way I can get more when I run out is to buy another palette.  Most of the colors are available for individual purchase.  I'm just a little bummed I can't buy a single serving of the one I use the most.

Beside the great color combinations I think these palettes are so popular due to the price point.  You receive 12 colors for $54.  More importantly a generous amount of shadow and quality colors.  I wear makeup everyday and my Naked Palette's are still holding strong.   I think that's why I haven't felt the urge to buy Naked 3.  Maybe my Dad will remember my love for these covated shadows and I'll have a sweet surprise for my birthday in a few months.  If you're ready to buy now I suggest going to Ebates to get 4% cash back, this handy coupon code for a Free Urban Decay Deluxe Pencil Sample plus Free 3-Day Shipping!
